Why Major in School Counseling?

School counselors collaborate with other school staff to develop a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program that meets the needs of all students. The professional school counselor focuses on the academic, career and social/emotional needs through direct and indirect services to the student body. They are uniquely positioned within the school to serve as a leader for systemic change, as well as an advocate for students.
