Students interested in
- BS Biology (Secondary Teaching Specialization)
- BA Chemistry (Secondary Teaching Specialization)
- MAT Biology
- MAT Mathematics
For undergraduates, the scholarship covers the last two years of their baccalaureate degree at the in-state rate (the amount is expected to be up to $22,026 for 2014-5). Graduate students would receive paid tuition for up to 36 credit hours at the in-state rate and only for required courses at The Citadel ($525 per credit hour for 2013-2014).
Part-time students may receive prorated scholarships not to exceed 6 years of support.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be US citizens or permanent residents
- Undergraduate and/or current GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Not previously certified to teach
- Not currently teaching
- Have a completed Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) with Financial Aid office
and
- Undergraduates:
- Passed EDUC 101: Education in Modern Society
- Meet South Carolina Praxis I requirement
- One professional letter of recommendation and one academic letter of recommendation
or
- Graduate students:
- Entering students must complete The Citadel Graduate College application
- Must have successfully completed either the Graduate Record Examination (acceptable score 291 combined) or the Miller Analogies Test (acceptable score 396 or higher)
- One professional letter of recommendation and one academic letter of recommendation
- One unofficial copy of transcript
